Investing in Emotional Capital

Anna Stehrenberger, Founder MarriedToAnEntrepreneur.com.

Anna Stehrenberger married an entrepreneur 7 years ago, not knowing what that lifestyle would entail. Just as her Entrepreneur seeks advice from business mentors and associates about the road of Entrepreneurship, Anna desired the same type of guidance as the Spouse of an Entrepreneur and couldn’t seem to find it.

So she created MarriedToAnEntrepreneur.com, a company that offers support and insight to the spouses of entrepreneurs. She writes about the amazing adventures, difficult challenges, and the fun roller coaster ride that her life has been as the wife of an Entrepreneur. As part of her company she interviews other spouses of entrepreneurs (from successful to aspiring successful) to get their insight, stories, and advice. Married to an Entrepreneur is also gathering research data via her blog survey as support data for her upcoming book. She hopes to not only to help prepare those who are looking to marry or recently married an entrepreneur, but to also improve the marriages of veteran entrepreneurs as well.

She has helped her Entrepreneur in many of his startups from screen print t-shirts in a college apartment to driving Ferraris in a luxury car leasing company and with 8 years of an Entrepreneurial Marriage under her belt she is excited to share her experiences and learn from other spouses as well. She hasn’t always been convinced she loves this life, but she does love the man who loves this life and that makes all the difference.

LaunchUp #16 Clinics: Fundraising (New), Tech, and Legal

Written by Jeremy on . Posted in Uncategorized

LaunchUp #16 tomorrow will offer the first ever Fundraising Clinic along side the popular Legal and Tech Clinic!

If you’re starting a company, or are thinking about it, these clinics offer free help from experts in the industry!  (If there are other clinics that you would like to see LaunchUp offer, let us know.)

LaunchUp Clinics are offered from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, the hour before the official LaunchUp event begins with the experts around tables where you can have a conversation. Here is a brief summary of each:

Fundraising Clinic

At the Fundraising Clinic, get answers from institutional investors about what it takes to raise VC money. Put on by partners and associates from University Venture Fund, Epic VC, Peterson Partners, and Mercato Partners.

Tech Clinic

At the Tech Clinic, you discuss your questions and ideas with experienced software startup architects and engineers. These architects and engineers will help you understand what it will take to make your idea a reality. The goal is to help you move forward on the technical aspects of your startup, answer your questions, and give you a chance to meet with practicing engineers. Discuss the technical questions you might have about your business ideas. The goal is to have entrepreneurs walk away knowing more about what it will take to implement their idea. Ideally, this includes some high-level architecture, a rough “bigger than a breadbox” effort estimate, and relationships with real startup architects/engineers.

Legal Clinic

Attorneys will be available from 5:30 to 6:30 to sit down around tables with entrepreneurs in a one on one setting to answer legal questions you might have about your business. These guys can give you their thoughts on issues relating to formation, angel and venture financings, employment, options, intellectual property, strategic partner relationships, customer contracts, exits and other issues that startups regularly face. Business and intellectual property attorneys from Bennett Tueller Johnson & Deere, Dorsey & Whitney, Bateman IP, and Kunzler, Needham, Massey, & Thorpe will be there.

See everyone there!
